Twin Cities Nurse Presents to Local Seniors on Signs & Symptoms of Emergency Care

ATASCADERO, CA (September 10, 2012) – Twin Cities Community Hospital will present one of the lectures at the upcoming “Knowledge is Control” Senior Informational Seminar, hosted by Atascadero Senior Fun Club on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, from 5 – 7 PM at the Colony Park Community Center in Atascadero. The complimentary senior-specific seminar is open to the public and will feature several informative presentations for seniors and the families and caregivers of seniors.

Karen Kelly, RN, Twin Cities Community Hospital Director of Medical/Surgical Unit & Perioperative Services, will speak about the warning signs and symptoms that necessitate emergency care for senior citizens. The presentation will include complimentary first aid kits for all seminar attendees, donated on behalf of the hospital.

Atascadero Senior Fun Club Director Ann Fletcher says, “I am pleased Twin Cities Community Hospital will be presenting on this topic as I have heard a lot about seniors who ignore a variety of warning signs and neglect to tell anyone or call 911 for help.”

Other presenters will speak about: Falling: Risk Factors and Prevention Techniques, Advance Directive & POLST: When and Why These Forms are Necessary, and NOAH: What Happens as We Age and What Requires our Attention.
